SME funding for projects in the life-sciences in Horizon 2020

The European Commission funded 184 SME phase 1 projects in life sciences which were evaluated in the period 2014 – May 2016. Spain (28 projects) was the most successful country followed by UK (26) and Italy (19 projects). Germany initiated 17 successful phase 1 projects.

SME funding in HORIZON 2020 in 2014-2016

The European Commission funded 1,155 SME phase 1 projects which were evaluated in the period 2014 – May 2016.
Spain (241 projects) was the most successful country followed by Italy (194 projects) and the UK (149). Interestingly, Germany though being the most powerful and innovative economy in Europe initiated only 79 successful phase 1 projects.
